Women's Sports Foundation
Challenge: The Womens Sports Foundation is one of the top five womens funds in the U.S., with a mission that includes building a national community with resources for girls and women in sports. WSF sought to have a community of 4,000 participating sports organizations within six months, and allocated staff time and a budget to accomplish the goal.
Solution: WSF recognized the economy of doing this by primarily relying on an Internet application. They chose Spider Graphics to create www.gogirlgodirectory.com after visiting similar Spider-built projects. We created an online resource center and meeting space where athletes, coaches, parents and program directors can locate programs and events, share expertise, sign up to volunteer, and communicate with one another.
Results: Launched in April 2005 with 4,500 contacts already held by WSF, the site has gained an average of 80 new contacts per month. More than 5,000 visitors come to the site each week. The cost for gaining these contacts and the rapidly expanding information database is simply the original cost of the project plus a half-day per week of staff time.
